Create a payment receipt online for free (PDF)
A receipt confirms that a payment has been made — a simpler document than an invoice, but built with the same calculation care: a breakdown of the lines paid, taxes included where relevant, and the total amount spelled out in words to remove any ambiguity about the sum involved.
When a receipt is enough, and when it isn't
A receipt suits a simple, already-settled transaction well, where both parties mainly need written proof of payment — a cash deposit, a one-off sale, a service rendered and paid for on the spot. It doesn't necessarily replace a proper invoice: depending on your legal and tax status, an invoice may still be required even for small amounts. This tool doesn't decide that question for you — it depends on local rules it doesn't know — but produces, either way, a document calculated with the same rigour.
Content close to an invoice, a different use
A receipt follows the same structure as an invoice: both parties' identity, a number, a date, a breakdown of the relevant lines, any taxes included in the amount paid, and a total. The difference is mainly in its purpose: it records something already done (a payment received) rather than a debt still owed. The "deposit already paid" field, for example, lets you explicitly show that no balance remains due by setting it to the receipt's full total.
Currency and the amount in words
As with an invoice or quote, rounding adapts to the chosen currency and the total amount is spelled out in words in the document's language — a note that removes any ambiguity about the sum actually received, particularly useful for a receipt handed over in person with no other written record of the transaction.

No receipt is kept on our servers: like the other two documents in this family of tools, it's generated on demand from the information you enter, then forgotten as soon as the download completes.
